HAPPY TRAILHEADS -- Steve Hoge (left), co-founder of the TrailHeads running group for off-road enthusiasts, hands a check for $3,500 to Greg Kopsch (right), director of Carolina North Forest Management. The check represents the proceeds from the Trailheads’ Philosophers Way Trail Runs last spring. Kopsch's UNC office served as hosts for the event in the undeveloped woodlands just of Horace Williams Airport. The check was presented at a small ceremony on Saturday, August 30 at the Open Eye Cafe in Carrboro. Carolina North Forest Management plans to use the money for trail maintenance and improvement of the tract.
