"This is a picture of a pineapple grown in Chapel Hill by my father, Keith Burridge. In the summer of 2006 he planted three pineapple tops in pots. Much to our surprise they didn't die, but instead began growing that first summer. The pineapples overwintered in the basement twice and continued growing. Now, two years later, he noticed that in the center of one of them, a tiny pineapple was growing."
