Seven Chapel Hill teens, plus leaders Brian Burnham and Chris Allen, dip the rear wheels of their bicycles in the waters of the Atlantic Ocean in Aberdeen, Md., prior to setting off on a 3,700-mile ride across the country. The group -- David Hare, Kit Brown, Heath Hedgins, Matt Moulton, Daniel Pearce, Angelo Sharp and Adams Conrad -- set off two weeks ago on the 10-week journey, bound for Anacortes, Wash., where they plan to finish by dipping their front wheels in the Pacific. The Wabu ('Washington or Bust') ride isn't just for the adventure; it's a fundraising venture for UNC Hospitals' Lineberger Cancer Center.
