The annual yard sale to benefit the Chapel Hill Senior Center is coming up and resident are encouraged to donate items to sell.The sale will be Sept. 9 from 8 a.m. until noon at the Chapel Hill Senior Center. Donated items may be taken to the senior center from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. from now until Sept. 8. To volunteer for any part of the project -- before or during the sale -- leave your name and phone number at the front desk and someone will give you a call. Sept. 8 -- The annual Carolina Christmas Show will have more than 300 exhibitors, entertainment, foods, music, holiday items and handcrafted items. The cost is $5.50, payable at the door. Joel Lane was also a vital figure in the founding of Raleigh. We will lunch at Irregardless Cafe before heading to Mordecai Park. We will tour the home, once owned by Joel Lane and the birthplace of President Andrew Jackson. Cost of both tours is $5 and will be collected on the bus.
