John Derrick sent in this shot of a ghost crab he took in Springer's Point Nature Preserve on Ocracoke Island. 'The 120+ acre (they've gotten more land) preserve on the edge of Ocracoke Village, protected by the N.C. Coastal Land Trust and the Ocracoke Preservation Society, hosts everything from ancient maritime forests to sandy beaches and crystal waters -- all within sight of Blackbeard's favored anchoring hole,' he wrote.
