The sixth annual Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools Scrabble tournament was held March 15. Word-savvy students from across the state converged on Smith Middle School for the competition, which was open to all North Carolina students in grades four through eight. Students representing 11 different schools faced off in a five-game event, which was a qualifier for the National School Scrabble Championship in May.
