The North Carolina School Public Relations Association has cited the Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools for accomplishments in school communications during its annual Blue Ribbon Awards for Excellence in Communication celebration at the North Hilton Hotel in Raleigh.

The district's Blue Ribbons were earned for four publications: the 2005-06 Annual Report, the 2007-08 Parent Calendar and Handbook, the 2007-08 Study Skills Series, and the 2007-08 Academy posters and informational brochures.

The winning publications have been entered in the National School Public Relations Association's Golden Achievement Awards, which will be announced in July at the annual conference.

NCSPRA presented 99 awards this year to school systems across the state in its annual tribute to outstanding publications, marketing campaigns, electronic media, Web sites, photography and excellence in writing. A panel of judges from the Georgia School Public Relations Association Board chose the group of winners, which included 501 entries form school systems and educational organizations in North Carolina.

NCSPRA is a 200-member organization that serves North Carolina public relations professionals who work primarily in public schools.
