Bhatti is the son of Shelah Bloom of Chapel Hill and Masood Bhatti of Chestnut Hill, Mass. An anthropology major, he attended East Chapel Hill High School.

Diesel was named the recipient of the Carol Richard Memorial Scholarship, given in memory of Ballet School partner, teacher, choreographer and Chapel Hill Dance Theater co-founder Carol Richard (1948-2007). The scholarship supports the studies or choreographic pursuits of young and aspiring dancers, particularly those with a passion for modern dance.

Diesel is a dedicated dancer devoted to modern dance and is an outstanding performer. She recently graduated from Emerson Waldorf School and will study in Europe during the summer. She hopes to perform professionally in the future.

Bonds earned the "True Grit" award in 2007-08, presented to a senior athlete from each Washington County (Md.) school for determination and perseverance in overcoming an injury.

Bonds injured his knee last spring while playing varsity lacrosse, but surgery and hard work brought him back in time to play varsity football this past fall. He then broke his collarbone during the 2007 football season, but recovered to be back on the field before season's end.

He will attend Washington and Lee University. He is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Mark Bonds.
