Kristen Berit Hendrickson and Keith Allen Weitz were married April 19 underneath the Overcup Oaks in the Coker Arboretum on the UNC campus.

Scott Decker of Hope Creek Church in Durham officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Carol Collins and Gary Hendrickson of Chapel Hill. She is a graduate of the UNC-Chapel Hill School of Journalism. She is a research assistant at UNC.

The groom is the son of Barbara Weitz and Robert Weitz of Algonquin, Ill. He holds a master's degree from Duke University. He is an environmental scientist at RTI.

The bride wore a traditional Norwegian bunad dress, which was her great-grandmother's. At the end of the ceremony, guests joined hands around the tree while the couple danced a traditional schottish around their guests.

The bride's sister, Eva Miles of McLeansville, led the singing, and Tim Rath of Chapel Hill played guitar.

The reception was held at La Residence in Chapel Hill

The couple took a wedding trip to Kauai, where they went hiking, running, swimming, snorkeling and kayaking. They plan to live in Chapel Hill or Durham.
