- Sally Bowen Prange, the late Chapel Hill ceramic artist, is being honored in a show, "Sally Bowen Prange Remembered," at the Chapel Hill Museum through Jan. 4, 2009. The museum is at 523 E. Franklin Street. www.chapelhillmuseum.org, 967-1400.
- Arts at the Meadow in Meadowmont Village takes place Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
- Ed Larson's work is on exhibit at Terra Nova Global Properties, 605 W. Main St., Carrboro, through September. A reception will be held Sept. 18, 5:30-7 p.m. Forty percent of the proceeds from sales of the artwork will be donated to Habitat for Humanity. 929-2005.
- Murry Handler's abstract watercolor and acrylic paintings go on exhibit Sunday at the Chapel Hill Bible Church, 260 Erwin Road, Chapel Hill. The show runs through October. 408-0310.
- Orange county artists are invited to apply for the Durham Arts Council's 2008-2009 Emerging Artists Grants. King St., Hillsborough and at all Orange County libraries and the Chapel Hill Library.
- "Carry Out Special," a show of Wednesday Kirwan's paintings, opens Sept. 12 at Wootini, with a reception starting at 7 p.m. The show ends Oct. 7. www.wednesdaykirwan.com.

- On exhibit at Wilson Library is "Hecho a Mano: Book Arts of Latin America" (through Oct. 12), and "Southerners Abroad: A Look at Southerners' Travels Around the World" (through Oct. 15). On Sept. 15, "Soapboxes and Tree Stumps: Political Campaigning in North Carolina," opens. - The Robert and Pearl Seymour Center, 2551 Homestead Road, is featuring "Master Color's Oil Paintings," works by instructor David Sovero and his students, through Oct. 1.
- Maggi Grace is exhibiting her work at Whole Foods on Elliott Road through September, with a reception in conjunction with the 2nd Friday Artwalk, Sept. 12, 6-9 p.m. She is also part of the faculty exhibit at Carrboro's ArtsCenter, which is also on the Artwalk.
