Edith and Talmadge Neece
ANNIVERSARY
Edith "Evie" and Talmadge "Talmo" Neece of Chapel Hill celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Sept. 11. The couple was married in Mt. Rainier, Md., on Sept. 11, 1948, and has lived in North Carolina for more than 20 years. They have three children, Laura Neece-Baltaro, Robert Neece and Alice Mine of Chapel Hill; and six grandchildren, Elizabeth and John Baltaro, Lara and Bennett Neece, and Lauren and Sarah Mine.The couple celebrated this week by visiting the Nasher Museum's exhibit, "El Greco to Velazquez," and with a dinner at the home of their daughter, Alice Mine. They were surrounded by their friends, children and four grandchildren, who traveled from Connecticut, Massachusetts, Nebraska, South Carolina, Virginia and Washington, D.C.Talmadge is a retired insurance executive and Edith is a retired nurse. Together they have stayed active in the Chapel Hill area by serving the public library, writing letters to the editor, attending the UNC Wellness Center, enjoying musical concerts and other cultural festivities, attending the Durham Friends Meeting, and participating in community events. They are celebrated and admired by friends and family for their 60 years of patient caring for one another, for their family and for our world.
