Backbeat highlights Last Fridays
The Backbeat will perform the music of the Beatles, as well as other '60s acts such as the Rolling Stones, the Kinks, the Monkees and more, on the courthouse lawn in Hillsborough during the monthly Last Fridays celebration.Live music, art, film, food and more will be on tap Friday, Sept. 26, from 6 to 9 p.m. throughout downtown Hillsborough.The Bolin Creek Harmony Boyus will offer a capella music at the Hillsborough Presbyterian Church, 102 W. Tryon St. The Starlite String Band will also play there, and the Lids will perform at Weaver Street Market at the Gateway Center.The monthly Filmmakers Film Series will present a special outdoor screening of "Chucklefest" at the Mason Lodge at 142 W. King St., and the Orange County Historical Museum will open "Satan in a Bottle."
