Mrs. Sadie Chatham Jones died Monday, Jan. 12, 2009, at her home following an extended illness. She was 90.

Sadie was the daughter of the late Wade and Blanche Chatham, and widow of the late Ben Jones. She was a member of Hillsong Baptist Church and was a homemaker.

She is survived by her daughters: Delores Jones Gold and husband, Arnold, Brenda Jones Baldwin, and Kathy Jones Strickland, all of Chapel Hill; sister, Dare McChristian of Farmville, Va.; brother, Lee Chatham of Richmond, Va., seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be conducted today at 2 p.m. at Westwood Cemetery in Carrboro by The Rev. Rob Tennant.

The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery and at other times in her home, 1008 Bowden Road, Chapel Hill.

Arrangements are by Walker's Funeral Home in Chapel Hill.

Margaret P. Morgan

Margaret P. Morgan, 91, of Chapel Hill, died Jan. 9, 2009, at her daughter's home.

Margaret was a native of Orange County. She was the daughter of William and Maggie Conklin Perkins and widow of the late Ollie L. Morgan Sr. She was preceded in death by her son, Ollie L. Morgan Jr. Margaret was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and was retired from the State of North Carolina.

She is survived by her daughters, Peggy M. Douglas and husband Jack, and Sandra A. Morgan, all of Chapel Hill; grandchildren Matt Douglas, Mary Beth Giles and husband, Kelly, and Scher Foord; great grandson Jackson Douglas Foord and several nieces and nephews.

Flowers are acceptable or memorial contributions may be made to Bethel Baptist Church, 9326 Bethel-Hickory Grove Church Road, Chapel Hill, 27516.
