Italian-born North Carolina artist Siglinda Scarpa will host a public Spring Art Show this weekend and next, featuring a collection of her most recent pottery and sculptures. The show will run from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday and May 23-24 at the Goathouse Refuge Gallery and Gardens in Pittsboro. The show will feature Scarpa's award-winning pottery and sculptures as well as works by three special guests. Guests' exhibits include 'Saved: Portraits

of Rescued Animals' by photographer Abra Fortune Chernik and 'Vedute di Roma: Views of Rome,' paintings by Leigh Brown and Lee Johnson. A large percentage of proceeds from the Spring Art Show will benefit The

The Chapel Hill Community Chorus will perform 'In the Beauty of Holiness,' a concert exploring the works of composers John Rutter and Leonard Bernstein, Saturday at 8 p.m. in Memorial Hall on the UNC campus. The chorus, conducted by Sue T. Klausmeyer, will sing Rutter's 'Requiem' and Bernstein's 'Chichester Psalms.' Joining in the tribute will be Cantari, the chorus' 24-member vocal ensemble, singing Bernstein's choruses from 'The Lark.' Admission is $15 for adults, $6 for students.
