Bea Lindquist

Bea Lindquist passed away peacefully in her home on June 2, surrounded in her last days by family, friends and family pets.

She was born April 14, 1915, in Wahoo, Neb., to Ella and Oscar Leonard, graduated from Joplin High School and worked 39 years for Southwestern Bell. She was married to Chester Lindquist who died in 1966. Pre-deceasing her were her sister Juanita and brother Jim. Bea retired to care for her mother, then moved to Grove, Okla., to fish, make new friends and enjoy life on Grand Lake.

She served as president of the AARP Chapter; starting a gift shop at Grove General Hospital to raise funds for the hospital; serving with the Cherry Red Auxiliary Organization, receiving an award for 10,000 hours of volunteer work at the hospital; and serving with the local organization for the sight impaired.

In 2005, Bea moved to Durham to be close to her son David, his partner and her "second son" Paul Hrusovsky, grandson Erik, granddaughter Elizabeth and her husband Jeffrey Kerr-Ritchie, and most joyfully now her great-grandson Nelson David Kerr-Ritchie.

Memorial contributions may be made to The Grove General Hospital Auxiliary, 1310 South Main, Grove, OK, 74344.

Visitation at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home of Grove is today from 6 to 8 p.m. Services at First United Methodist Church of Grove, Okla., are Monday at 11 a.m., followed by burial in Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery, Joplin, Mo., on Monday at 2:30 p.m. A memorial service will be held at Durham Regent, 3007 Pickett Road in Durham on June 16 at 3 p.m.

Norma Neems Horton

Norma Neems Horton, 66, of Farrington Point Road, Chapel Hill, died peacefully in her home Thursday following a period of declining health.

A native of Orange County, Mrs. Horton was born in Hillsborough on June 24, 1942, the daughter of A. V. Neems and Texxie Squires Neems. She owned and operated Norma's Houskeeping cleaning service and was a member of the Church of Living Water in Staley.

Surviving are her husband, Brodie Horton; sons and daughters-in-law Bobby and Tamar Horton of Siler City and Tom and Karen Godwin of Durham; daughters and sons-in-law, Jennifer and Bill Golat of Pittsboro, Sherrie and Jeff Mooney of White Cross, and Lucy and Skippy Godfrey of Mebane; two granddaughters, Anna and Amy Godwin; one brother; and three sisters.

The service to celebrate Mrs. Horton's life and homegoing will be held at 3 p.m. today from Church of Living Water, 10646 U.S. 64 E., Staley, with Pastor James Mitchell presiding. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Helene Daberkow Davidian

Helene Daberkow Davidian, 65, of Chapel Hill became one of God's Greatest Angels on May 31 at home with family by her side.

She was born Aug. 14, 1943, in Englewood, N.J., to William and Helene Arpurth Daberkow. She graduated from Englewood Hospital School of Nursing in 1964 and began her passion for nursing until the birth of her sons.

She is survived by her husband, Dr. Edward Davidian Sr.; sons Dr. Edward Davidian Jr. and wife Dr. Amy Davidian, of Ohio and Dr. Daniel Davidian Sr. and wife Dr. Tracy Davidian, of Raleigh; sister Janet Swanson and husband Richard Swanson, of Virginia; brother William Daberkow and wife Kate Daberkow, of New York; and grandsons Daniel Davidian Jr. and Ambar Davidian.

In lieu of flowers, a foundation is being established in Mrs. Davidian's name to help purchase needed comforts for cancer patients. If you are interested in donating, please send your contact info to tldavidian@yahoo.com

Services were held Saturday in the Christ United Methodist Church in Southern Village, Chapel Hill. A private family graveside service followed.
