Thomas Charles Jackson
Melissa Manning McLaney and Thomas Charles Jackson were married July 11, 2009, at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Charlotte. The Rev. Baron Mullis officiated the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Debra and Ernest McLaney of Charlotte. She is a graduate of Myers Park High School and UNC-Chapel Hill. She is enrolled at Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.
The groom is the son of Megan and Robert Jackson of Pittsboro. He is a graduate of Fuquay-Varina High School and UNC-Chapel Hill. He is employed with the New York Times.
The bride was given away by her parents.
Matron of honor was Stephanie Reid Godbold of Charlotte.
Bridesmaids were Emily Vespo of York, S.C.; Carole Deans of Boone; April Owens of Charlotte; Marshall Long of Chapel Hill; Laurie Tedder of Louisville, Ky.; Kerri Oliver of New York City, N.Y.; and Sally Salib of Washington, D.C.
Flower girl was DeAnn McLaney-Cox of Asheville.
Best man was Robert Jackson of Pittsboro.
Ushers were Chris McLaney, Brian Jackson and Jamie Jackson, all of Charlotte; and Miles Jackson and Connor Jackson of Raleigh.
A reception was hosted by the bride's parents at Roof With A View in Charlotte.
Following a wedding trip to Tortola and St. John, the couple will live in New York City.
