Promises made should be promises kept. The Rogers Road community that includes Millhouse Road (2,000 feet away and just around the corner) should be taken out of consideration as a site for the placement of a waste transfer station.

To begin, the community was promised this type of facility would not be placed there. Second, due process was not given to these citizens. As is well known the site was put forward at the last minute by Mayor Kevin Foy. Finally, the site is near a school.

I have listed only three reasons for brevity as there are certainly many others. As to Mayor Foy, his legacy now falls just below Mike Easley and a tad above Jim Black. The only decent course of action for him is to withdraw the Millhouse Road site from further consideration.
