Mrs. Harriet McKay Hazlehurst of Macon, Ga., died Sunday, July 26, 2009. Her dearly loved husband, Dr. William Derrel Hazlehurst, died in 2003 after a marriage lasting 64 short years.

The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert McKay of Macon, Mrs. Hazlehurst was predeceased by her brother, Albert Walters McKay and by her sister, Blythe Letcher McKay. Her granddaughter, Anne Marie Devlin, also predeceased her.

At her death Mrs. Hazlehurst was a member of Northminster Presbyterian Church, having earlier in life been a member of First Presbyterian Church, where she was a life member of the Women of the Church.

Described by all who met her as gracious, warm, beautiful, endearing and determined, our Ma was so funny she often woke herself from dreams laughing.
