ACC Soccer

The ACC Women's Championship will be decided again in Cary, featuring defending NCAA champion North Carolina and five teams currently ranked among the nation's Top 10. The tournament opens at WakeMed Soccer Park with four quarterfinal games on Wednesday. North Carolina (14-3-1) is the No. 3 seed in the tournament and will play No. 6 seed Maryland (12-4-2) at 7:30 p.m. tonight in the first round. The semifinals are set for 5 & 7:30 p.m. Friday evening, Nov. 6, and the title game will be Sunday, Nov. 8, at 2 p.m.

The Governor Club's third annual match-play event, featuring alums of all the Big 10 and ACC schools, will be held Nov. 12 on the GCGC course, a Jack Nicklaus 27-hole beauty that winds through the wooded hills of North Chatham. Even non-golfers enjoy the spectacular view overlooking the Coastal Plain from Edwards Mountain.

Eve Carson 5K

The Eve Carson Memorial 5K road race is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 21, starting at 10 a.m. (registration opens at 8 a.m.) in front of South Building on UNC's campus.
