MARCH 20RECREATION
The Kidney Kare 5k Run/Walk and new Kids' Half-Mile will start at 8:30 a.m. Saturday in Carrboro. The 5K and Half-Mile for ages 5-11 will start and finish at McDougle Middle School. The half-miler will stay on McDougle's campus, while the USATF-certified 5K will course through Carrboro neigh- borhoods. Proceeds will go to causes related to kidney health. Register at

Dixie Rock 21: One of the oldest and most respected rock-wall climbing competitions in the nation,the 21st annual Dixie Rock will run Friday and Saturday at the Chapel Hill Community Center.
