JUNE 14Scholastic Summer Baseball: Athens Drive at Chapel Hill, Cardinal Gibbons at W. Harnett, Cedar Ridge at Holly Springs, East Chapel Hill at Sanderson, Orange at Apex.
Softball: The finals of the Chapel Hill Parks & Recreation Department's Softball League have been pushed back to June 21 because of weather-related rescheduling. The tournament is scheduled to begin Monday and continue Wednesday with semifinals.

JUNE 17Golf: N.C. Junior Boys Championship Sectional Qualifier, at Cardinal Country Club in Selma.
The CGA's 50th North Carolina Amateur Championship will be June 17-20 at Wilson Country Club.

JUNE 19Auto Racing: The "Summer Smash" - with a seven-race card at Orange County Speedway - includes late model, grand and pure stock events. Practice runs start at 2:30 & qualifying about 5 p.m.; fans are welcome to watch. Racing begins at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for students 11-17, children 10 and under free. Running 5Ks: North Carolina's summer run schedule hits full stride in mid-June with multiple events this weekend. Two of our favorites have runners heading in different directions from Chapel Hill-Carrboro -- the Blueberry 5K in Burgaw (

clemmonsrotary5k.com) at Tanglewood Park in Clemmons.
JUNE 20USAT&F Clinic: USA Track and Field will offer a Level I Coaching Education Seminar at UNC-Greensboro on June 20-22. The sessions in UNCG's Bryan Scool of Business are time to follow immediately after the NSSF Outdoor Championships in Greensboro.
