CARRBORO

David Henry Almers, 59, 401 N.C. 54, E-11, was arrested on a felony charge of assault by strangulation, according to a police report.

Alexander Demare Cotton, 20, 112 N.C. 54, V-3 was arrested Tuesday on felony charges of selling or delivering a Schedule VI controlled substance, maintaining a dwelling for the purpose of distributing a controlled substance, and possessing a weapon of mass destruction, according to a police report.

Police say someone spray painted "420" on a sign at McDougal Middle School, 900 Old Fayetteville Road, on Tuesday.

A store manager told police someone passed a counterfeit $100 bill at the Kangaroo convenience store at 500 Jones Ferry Road on Thursday.

Home break-ins:

- Someone stole a radio from an apartment on Smith Level Road while the occupant was out of town. The theft was reported on Friday.

- A TV and laptop were stolen from a house on Tally Ho Trail on Friday.

- Someone pried the window off a house on South Peak Drive on Sunday, but nothing was reported stolen.

- Someone pried open a window at a house on James Street on Monday. Two computers, a camera, camcorder, shotgun and $2,000 worth of jewelry were stolen.

- Someone broke into a house on Hanna Street while the homeowner was out of town. He reported Tuesday that camera equipment, a backpack and prescription medication were missing from the house.

- Someone stole a lawnmower off the porch of a home on Sunset Drive on Wednesday.

Vehicle break-ins:

- Someone broke in to a Toyota Sequoia on Barnes Street on Monday, and stole a purse and an iPod.

- A man told police on Thursday that someone stole his car from the parking lot of Carolina Apartments at 401 N.C 54.

CHAPEL HILL

Edna Elizabeth Stancil, 42, 2525 Booker Creek Road, 4-H, was arrested Saturday on a felony charge of being a fugitive, according to a police report.

Antonio Thomas Lavaar Clark, 24, 108 Oak Grove Drive, Graham, was arrested Sunday on outstanding warrants for felony charges of possessing cocaine, selling and delivering cocaine, and conspiracy, according to a police report.

Howard Maurice Harris, 17, and Tracey Allan McCauley, Jr., both of 211 Pinegate Circle, Apt. 8, and Justin Elijah McLeod, 16, 212 Pinegate Circle, Apt.2, were each charged Sunday with felony breaking and entering, as well as possession of stolen goods, according to police reports.

Someone fired a projectile, shattering at a glass window at the Community Church on Purefoy Road. The damage was reported on Monday.

Seven diamonds worth $10,316 were stolen from Goldworks, 201 S. Estes Drive. The theft was reported on Tuesday.

Someone stole three copper downspouts from the BB&T at 143 E. Rosemary St., on Wednesday.

A woman told police on Thursday that someone stole $11,152 worth of jewelry from her suitcase while she was staying at the the Franklin Hotel, 311 West Franklin Street.

Kevin Aldean Royal, 40, 100 W. Rosemary St., was arrested Thursday on felony charges of stealing a credit card and possessing a stolen credit card, according to a police report.

Home break-ins:

- Someone stole a lawnmower from a home on McMasters Street on Saturday.

- Someone stole a refrigerator off a porch at a home on Lindsay Street on Sunday.

- Someone stole $240 worth of office equipment from a house on Longleaf Drive on Tuesday.

Vehicle break-ins:

- Someone stole a purse from a car parked in Main Street on Saturday.

- A GPS unit was stolen from a car parked on Coleridge Road on Sunday.

- Someone smashed the passenger window of cars parked on Drew Hill Lane and White Oak Way on Sunday. GPS units were reported stolen from each vehicle.

- Someone entered an unlocked car on West Franklin Street on Tuesday and stole a pair of sunglasses, a gym bag, a library book and various clothes.
