Singer-songwriter Jon Shain invited his musician friends to play a benefit at the Cat's Cradle the night before Thanksgiving 11 years ago. He's done it every year since (although it's now the night after Thanksgiving). This year's Post-Turkey Day Jam will feature a songwriters-in-the-round set with Greg Humphreys, Mark Simonsen, Stu Cole, Lizzy Ross and SONiA, then a set by Shain and his trio, and a set by Tom Maxwell and the Minor Drag. $10, and proceeds benefit the Inter-Faith Council for Social Services. 919-967-9053, catscradle.com.
