SNMNMNM, one of the few rock outfits that sports a tuba, formed in Rochester, N.Y., but has been based in Chapel Hill since 2003. The band celebrates its 14th anniversary at Local 506 on Saturday. Supreme Fiction and Antibubbles will join the fun, and get this - it's free.

It's been almost a year since
Suzannah and Uncle John's Band played at the General Store Cafe in Pittsboro. They'll be back on Dec. 16. The show starts at 7:30 p.m., and a portion of proceeds will go to Tranforming Hope, a nonprofit that raises awareness about human trafficking. 919-542-2432.
