The TABLE hunger relief organization needs volunteers to keep food moving to participating children during the holidays and the first weeks of January. Volunteers are needed from 6 to 8 p.m. today and 2 to 4 p.m. Dec. 29, as well as Jan. 5-9 and Jan. 9-12. 919, 636-4860, TABLEnc.org.

The Smith Middle School boys lacrosse team will hold an All You Can Eat Pancake Fundraiser from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 30, at the Carolina Coffee Shop, 138 E. Franklin St.

The cost is $10, free for kids younger than 5.

The Road Home Band will perform in "Road Home for the New Year," a benefit concert for the Inter-Faith Council for Social Service, at 7 p.m. Dec. 31 at the United Church of Chapel Hill.

The four-piece folk band blends vocals, guitar, mandolin, bass and drums.

A free-will offering will be taken.
