Mary Wood Bastin lived in Louisville KY before moving to Fearrington Village NC in 1995. In 2011 she moved to Pueblo CO.
She held a graduate degree in Community Development from the University of Louisville.
She was CEO of Osprey Marketing, a member of the Chatham County Chamber of Commerce, Siler City Rotary Club, Siler City Merchants Assn, and Pittsboro Merchants Assn. She was a founder and first President of Chatham Citizens For Effective Communities. She was a member of the Chatham County Transportation Board.
She was a member of the Chapel Hill Meeting of the Society of Friends (Quaker).
She is survived by her sons, Stuart Bastin of Pueblo, Colorado; Alan Bastin of Dubai, United Arab Emerites; her daughter-in-law Karen Bastin of Dubai and four grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at Primrose Retirement Community in Pueblo Colorado.
