YMCA SPORTS: The Chapel Hill-Carrboro YMCA has opened registration for Youth Basketball. Y leagues include coed Pre-Kindergarten and K-1, plus separate boys and girls divisions for grades 2-3, 4-5 and 6-8. Play will run through March in the Y gym and other area locations. HOT STOVE BANQUET: The Carolina Baseball Club's third annual Hot Stove Banquet will be 6-8 p.m. on Jan. 21 in Fetzer Gymnasium on the UNC Campus. Speakers will include Wake Forest University head baseball coach Tom Walter and UNC assistant baseball coach Robert Woodard. SKIPSATIONS IN CARRBORO: The Skipsations jump rope team, including several world championship medalists, will offer a demonstration of skills in singles, pairs, and double-dutch events, all to rhythmic tunes, from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. on Feb. 5 in Carrboro's Century Center. PBC SPRING TRAIL: The Piedmont Bass Classics 2012 Spring Trail features two stops at Jordan Lake before the tour returns there June 23 for its $5,000 championship. The Spring Trail begins Feb. 25 at Shearon Harris Lake and will back there March 10. The PBC's first stop at Jordan Lake follows on March 24. Other dates are: April 14 at Kerr Lake, April 28 at Falls Lake, May 19 back at Jordan Lake and June 19 at Falls Lake again. SPRING IN CARRBORO: Registration is open for all Carrboro Recreation and Parks' winter / spring sports.
