Mr. James M. “Jim” Wallace, Jr., 63, of Gastonia, died Wednesday, January 11, 2012, at his residence.
A Service is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. Saturday, January 14, 2012, at Founders Chapel, McLean Funeral Directors. Rev. Bill Jeffries will officiate. Interment will be private.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-6:00 p.m. Saturday at McLean Funeral Directors.
Mr. Wallace was born September 30, 1948 in Gastonia, NC. He was a son of Doris “Dotsie” Carter Wallace and the late James M. “Legs” Wallace, Sr. He worked for the State of North Carolina as an Assistant Attorney General.
Mr. Wallace, in addition to his mother, is survived by brother, Dan Wallace and wife, Kim of Belmont; sister, Sha Tate and husband, Allen of Charlotte; nieces and nephews, Carter and Allen Tate and Allison and Brian Wallace.
Jim graduated from Senate page school in Washington, DC and received his high school diploma from Lyndon B. Johnson in 1967. He was the Assistant Editor of Wake Forest University’s Law Review. He also had a BS in Political Science from the University of North Carolina. He loved to reminisce about his time at Woodstock and loved to travel. He travelled to nearly every country in the world but always regretted not making it to Russia.
