Patrick Richard Haikal passed into everlasting life on Sunday, January 8, 2012 in Denver, Colorado. He was 38 years old and courageously fought carcinoid cancer for a year and a half.

Patrick is survived by his wife, Kristen Ranta Haikal of Denver, Colorado; his parents, Danielle Haikal of Chapel Hill, North Carolina and Richard Haikal of Raleigh, North Carolina; and his siblings, Mark Haikal and Christine Elkins of North Carolina. Patrick had many friends who loved and respected him. He had a quick wit and genuine nature that made him easy to befriend.

He was honored to be the Godfather of Shannon Cohen, Alexander Haikal and Meena Morrison.

Patrick was born in Souck-el-gharb, Lebanon on June 25, 1973. He lived in Lebanon, Cyprus, Liberia, North Carolina and California before settling in Denver, Colorado with his wife. Patrick and Kristen were married on October 15, 2005 in Vail, Colorado. He became a US citizen on May 13, 2009.

Patrick received his Bachelor of Science in 1996 in Microbiology and Pre-Veterinary Sciences at North Carolina State University. He received his Masters of Science in Plant Pathology in 1999 at North Carolina State University as well. He was a proud NC State alum.

Patrick spent most of his professional life with Arysta LifeSciences, where he was a Product Manager. Patrick was exceptionally proud and successful in his career. He loved his job and the people he worked with. His accomplishments includes receiving the President’s Award in 2004 and the Demonstrated Excellence Award in 2011 at Arysta LifeSciences.

Patrick loved to play tennis, hike, scuba dive, ski and bike. He travelled extensively around the world including trips to Canada, Hawaii, Belize, Mexico, China, Europe, and Japan.
