CHAPEL HILL - The Chapel Hill-Carrboro Chamber of Commerce announced the election to its 35-member volunteer Board of Directors on Monday.

The Chamber's board elected as their new slate of officers:

Chair: Barry Leffler, CEO and managing partner at 1360 WCHL

Vice Chair: Paige Zinn, chief operating officer at Jennings

Treasurer: Chris Barnes, vice president at First Citizens Bank

General Counsel: Bob Saunders, partner at Brooks Pierce

Secretary: Aaron Nelson, president and CEO at the Chapel Hill-Carrboro Chamber

Immediate Past Chair: Marc Pons, president at Chapel Hill Tire Car Care Center

The Chamber's board elected as new members of the board of directors:

Bruce Ballentine, President at Ballentine Associates, PA. He is president of Ballentine Associates, PA, a civil engineering consulting firm, in addition to being president of Black Diamond Properties, a land development firm.

Linda Cohen, Vice President, Publishing at AICPA. Cohen is the vice president of publications at AICPA (American Institute of CPAs).

Margot Lester, Owner, Enterprise-Builder & Content Tycoon at The Word Factory. She owns The Word Factory, a strategic communications and content agency.

Gerald Ramoin, Executive Vice President and General Manager, Performance AutoMall. He is vice president and executive general manager for Performance AutoMall in Chapel Hill.

Shannon Reaves, Senior Vice President at Harrington Bank. She oversees the sales, service and operations for each of Harrington's four branches, as well as the mortgage and consumer lending teams.

Shawn Slome, Owner at Twig, an eco-lifestyle retail shop on Elliott Road. Previously, he was the owner of Look Out Casual Clothes with locations in Durham, Raleigh, Chapel Hill and Carrboro.

The Chamber board also reelected the following individuals

Fred Black, Black Star Strategies

Millie Chalk, Duke Energy

Chris Derby, The UPS Stores of Meadowmont and Fordham Blvd

Mariana Fiorentino, Terra Nova Global Properties

Joel Levy, Joel I. Levy C.P.A., P.A.

Torin Martinez, UNC Hospitals

Roger Perry, East West Partners

Reagan Pruitt, Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina

The Chamber of Commerce has more than 1,100 members who employ more than 80,000 people in the Triangle region.
