Chatham County

Mark Cantin, 43, of 60 Rosefield Court, Pittsboro, was charged Jan. 5 with assault on a law enforcement officer by pointing a gun, second-degree kidnapping, assault on a female, false imprisonment, assault with a deadly weapon and resisting a public officer, sheriff's deputies reported.

Robert Stewart, 23, of 366 Adolph Taylor Road, Pittsboro, was charged Jan. 9 with larceny, possession of stolen property and obtaining money or property by false pretenses, sheriff's deputies reported.
