Goodfellows at 149 1/2 E. Franklin St., will charge a $5 cover charge from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. Feb. 9, with all proceeds going to Healing Heroes, which provides assistance for quality medical care to the men and women of the armed forces injured in the line of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The Guatemalan Student Support Group presents the "Legend of the Hunters" Mayan folklore skit and fundraising banquet from 7 to 9 p.m. Feb. 17 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 940 Carmichael St.

Proceeds help bring impoverished indigenous Guatemalan youth to the Triangle for high school and college.

Mount Carmel Baptist Church, 2016 Mount Carmel Church Road, will present "Keith Henderson: Illusions of the King" at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 18.

All proceeds will go to the Mount Carmel Building Fund.

The Carolina Inn, 211 Pittsboro St., will host a Shrimp-n-Grits Throwdown featuring local chefs from 1 to 4 p.m. Feb. 25.

A portion of the proceeds will go the TABLE, which serves local children at risk of hunger. Please bring a donation of canned or nonperishable items.

The Chapel Hill-Carrboro Area Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, in partnership with the Chapel Hill-Carrboro Delta Foundation, will sponsor the Queen of Hearts Gala at 8 p.m. Feb. 25 at the Sheraton Hotel, 100 Europa Dr.

The event will include heavy hors d'ouevres, live music and dance by Soul Play and a silent auction.

Proceeds support the American Heart Association and the chapter's educational scholarships and public service programs.

Registration is now open for Chatham Habitat for Humanity's Third Annual Chatham 3RingCycle, set for 8:30 a.m. May 12, at 8:30 a.m. at the Central Carolina Community College campus in Pittsboro.

The bicycle ride features 30, 60, and 100 mile loops. Pre-registration for adults is $40; $45 for walk-on registration. Pre-registration for ages 16-18 is $30; $35 walk-on.

The Cornucopia Cancer Support Center will hold its annual A Chocolate Affaire fundraiser on Feb. 12 at the Millennium Hotel in Durham.

The fundraiser features two events: A Champagne Brunch from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m., and A Chocolate Affaire, from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m.

Cynthia Marshall, president of AT&T North Carolina, will be honorary chair.

Proceeds benefit Cornucopia's programs for people with cancer and survivors, family members and caregivers.

Tickets are $60 for A Chocolate Affair or $120 for both events.
