Brand Ambassador Program Session

The Alliance for Historic Hillsborough will hold a session on the Brand Ambassador Program on Feb. 28 from noon to 1 p.m. at the Orange County Historical Museum, 201 N. Churton St. Designed for business owners, employees, and anyone in the area who has contact with visitors, the program provides a resource for thorough and consistent visitor information about our town. Clean-Up-A-Thon

Clean Jordan Lake is seeking volunteers to participate in the 22nd annual Haw River Assembly's Clean-Up-A-Thon from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 17 beginning at the Robeson Creek boat ramp. Boaters and walkers will be assigned different shoreline sections. Wear rugged clothes and shoes and bring rain gear if needed. 5K For Education

The Chapel-Hill Carrboro Public School Foundation with Fleet Feet Sports Carrboro will hold preparation events for the foundation's 5K for Education on April 28. A six-week training program for employees of the Chapel Hill-Carrboro City School district will begin on March 12. Cost is $10 and includes registration for the 5K. Photojournalism Workshop

A free photojournalism workshop called "Making a Photograph Tell A Story" will be from 2 to 4:30 p.m. at the Carrboro Branch Library, 900 Old Fayetteville Road. Jock Lauterer, director of the Carolina Community Media Project at the UNC-Chapel Hill School of Journalism will teach the workshop. Registration is required. 969-3006.

Charity Event

The Cornucopia Cancer Support Center will hold its signature event, A Chocolate Affaire, from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the Millennium Hotel in Durham. Cynthia Marshall, president of AT&T North Carolina, will serve as the honorary chair. A champagne brunch will be held from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Cost for both events is $120. TIckets for A Chocolate Affaire are $60. Proceeds will benefit the Cornucopia Cancer Support Center. cancersupport4u.org.

Pajama Party

The Ackland Art Museum will hold a Pajama Party for children ages 4-8 from 3 to 5 p.m. at 101 S. Columbia St. There will be milk and cookies, winter-themed stories, hands-on activities and surprises. ackland.org.
