The Guatemalan Student Support Group presents the "Legend of the Hunters" Mayan folklore skit and fundraising banquet from 7 to 9 p.m. Feb. 17 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 940 Carmichael St.

Proceeds help bring impoverished indigenous Guatemalan youth to the Triangle for high school and college to gain the education they need to return to improve their home communities.

The Carolina Inn, 211 Pittsboro St., will host a Shrimp-n-Grits Throwdown featuring local chefs from 1 to 4 p.m. Feb. 25. The Chapel Hill-Carrboro Area Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, in partnership with the Chapel Hill-Carrboro Delta Foundation, will sponsor the Queen of Hearts Gala at 8 p.m. Feb. 25 at the Sheraton Hotel, 100 Europa Dr.

The event will include heavy hors d'ouevres, live music and dance by Soul Play and a silent auction.

Proceeds support the American Heart Association and the chapter's educational scholarships and public service programs.

Registration is now open for Chatham Habitat for Humanity's Third Annual Chatham 3RingCycle, set for 8:30 a.m. May 12, at the Central Carolina Community College campus in Pittsboro.

The bicycle ride features 30, 60, and 100 mile loops. Pre-registration for adults is $40; $45 for walk-on registration. Pre-registration for ages 16-18 is $30; $35 walk-on.

Mount Carmel Baptist Church, 2016 Mount Carmel Church Road, will present "Keith Henderson: Illusions of the King" at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 18.

Henderson's award-winning show has been bringing back the memories of Elvis for more than 30 years.

The concert will be held in the fellowship hall and will feature half gospel, half Elvis tribute. The Mount Carmel Men's Quartet will perform during intermission, and Lauren Henderson and Al Zaranka will also perform.

Doors will open at 6:30 p.m., with dessert and refreshments provided. All proceeds will go to the Mount Carmel Building Fund. Tickets are $25. 919-918-2300, skhend@mindspring.com.
