OngoingClean-Up-A-ThonClean Jordan Lake is seeking volunteers to participate in the 22nd annual Haw River Assembly's Clean-Up-A-Thon 9 a.m.-1 p.m. March 17 beginning at the Robeson Creek boat ramp. Boaters and walkers will be assigned different shoreline sections. Wear rugged clothes and shoes and bring rain gear if needed. Children under 11 are not allowed to pick up trash.

5K For EducationThe Chapel-Hill Carrboro Public School Foundation with Fleet Feet Sports Carrboro will hold preparation events for the foundation's 5K for Education on April 28. A six-week training program for employees of the Chapel Hill-Carrboro City School district will begin March 12. Cost is $10 and includes registration for the 5K. A training will be held Feb. 27 at the Lincoln Center.
