Released in 1972, at the height of the rock era, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band’s 1972 album “Will the Circle be Unbroken” introduced the music of bluegrass and traditional country pioneers Doc Watson, Earl Scruggs, Merle Travis, Roy Acuff, Mother Maybelle Carter and many others to a whole new generation of fans. An all-star cast of Triangle-area Americana musicians will gather to play selections from that seminal album at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Community Church of Chapel Hill. The “Music From the Circle” concert will feature Mike Babyak, Lanelle Davis, Julie Elkins, Danny Gotham, Jeff Hart, Bobb Head, Jan Johansson, Joe Newberry, Janet Place, Jim Roberts, Mark Simonsen, Jon Shain, Hank Smith, and Lindsey Tims.

The suggested donation is $10. All proceeds will benefit Carolina Donor Services and the National Foundation for Transplants.

The Community Church is at 106 Purefoy Road. For more information, call 919-967-4934 or e-mail steelstringer@gmail.com.
