Jeffrey Marcin of Chapel Hill won the 10-year-old division of the Knights of Columbus Free Throw Shooting Championship of North Carolina that was held March 31 in Burlington. He made 21 of 25 free throws in the finals to beat eight other district winners from around the state in his age group.

A fifth-grader at St. Thomas More School, he is the son of Lynn and Denny Marcin.

Elizabeth Layne and Blake Johnson, both from St. Thomas More, also competed in the state finals.
