Silent auction to benefit Carrboro High School athletics

•  Chapel Hill High School is trying to raise $7,000 for the book room in the renovated Carrboro Thrift Shop.

•  Chatham Animal Rescue and Education will host the 9th annual Bash and Auction to Benefit Cats and Dogs in Need, from 5 to 8 p.m. May 20 at Shady Wagon Farm, 2312 Pea Ridge Road, New Hill.

•  The North Carolina Botanical Garden will hold its inaugural Carolina Moonlight Gala from 6:30 to 11 p.m. June 2 at the Garden’s Education Building and surrounding gardens.

There will be hors d’oeuvres and drink, live music and dancing, silent auction and more.

All proceeds will support the Garden’s programs in conservation, horticulture and education. Auction will begin online May 19.

Tickets are $125.

Carrboro High School silent auction

The Carrboro High School Athletic Booster Club will hold a silent auction from 7 to 11 p.m. May 19 at the Southern Village Club House.

The event, for adults only, will include hors d’eouvres, spirits, music, silent auction and more.

Proceeds will go to the Carrboro High School Athletic Capital Improvement Program. Funds will help outfit a new field house and concession stand, as well as other needed capital improvements to the school’s athletic facilities.

Tickets are $25 per person; $15 for Carrboro High School faculty and staff.
