Gerald (Gerry) Bulley White, age 68, died on May 16, 2012 while vacationing in Canada. Born July 28, 1943 in Evanston, Illinois, Gerry spent most of his early life in Illinois, before moving to New Jersey in 1995 and then to Fearrington Village, Pittsboro, NC in 2002. He attended Joseph Sears Elementary School, Kenilworth, IL, New Trier High School, Winnetka, IL , and earned degrees from Oberlin College, Oberlin, OH and Thunderbird International School of Management, Phoenix, AZ.
Gerry began his career in finance working for Northern Trust Bank in Chicago. He left banking to work in warehousing for various firms, the last one being International Paper, all in Chicago. When he moved to New Jersey in 1995, he worked for D.F. King in investor relations in New York City.
Gerry suffered from Parkinson’s Disease, being first diagnosed in 1995. His immediate cause of death was a sudden cardiac arrest. Surviving Gerry are his wife, Katherine (Kay) Karslake White, step-son Michael Stephen Struk and wife Sally Lyndall Struk and granddaughter, Clara Elizabeth Struk, all of Cleveland, step-son Mark Christopher Struk, also of Cleveland, nephew Dennis William White and wife Teala Le Blanc of Pallatine, IL and nephew Kelly Donald White and wife Jamaica Duane White of St. Louis, MO. Gerry’s parents, Fred Postin White and Bernice Bulley White, and brother, Donald Anderson White, preceded him in death.
A graveside service will be held on July 28 in Chautauqua, NY. A memorial service will be held in Fearrington Village in September.
