Alice Lockwood Craft, 79, of 102 Gristmill Lane, Chapel Hill, NC died June 18, 2012 at Brian Center of Durham. Ms. Craft was born on September 6, 1932, in Charlotte, NC and in 1950 married her husband, the late Denzel Ray Craft. In 1956 they adopted Chapel Hill as their home for the span of Alice’s life. Through her professional career she worked as accountant, tax advisor or office manager for UNC, WCHL Radio, Rose Pridgen & Freeman Engineers, Coleman Bernholtz Law Firm, Rainbow Soccer, and The Church of the Holy Family. Alice was a superior seamstress, an excellent bridge player, and was known for her hard work, infectious laugh, and for her generous spirit.
Alice Craft was predeceased by her son, Philip C. Craft and survivors include her three children; Carolyn Craft/husband Tommy Miller, Ray Craft, Greg Craft/fiancé Zina Almers; grandchildren Brian Craft, Taylor Craft/wife Lisa Craft, Caroline Craft Merrill/husband Cameron Merrill, Hallie Craft, McKenzie Almers; and great grandchildren Lori Craft, Christopher Craft, Alexis Craft, Cameron Craft, Keenan Craft and Kensey Craft.
A Memorial service will be held at The Church of the Holy Family, 200 Hayes Road, Chapel Hill on Saturday, June 30 at 11am. Reception and visitation will follow.
