The Carolina Fever lacrosse club traveled recently to Rock Hill, S.C., where it played in a southeastern regional tournament with teams from Florida, Alabama, Georgia and the Carolinas. Fever Blue went 5-0 in the regional, finished first in their pool and won the tournament championship with a 12-6 victory over the Excell (S.C.) Storm. Carolina Fever’s lineup features five players from East Chapel Hill — Cassie Watters, Quin Cullen, Christine Kolk, Madeline Futch and Bailey DeMuth — Carrboro’s Briana Merrigan and Chloe Lewis from Durham Academy.
