PlayMakers Repertory’s 2012 Summer Youth Conservatory presents the Tony Award-winning, if ickily titled, “Urinetown: The Musical” Friday, July 19, through Sunday, July 22, at the Paul Green Theatre in the UNC Center for Dramatic Art.

Mark Hollmann and Greg Kotis’ wickedly funny satire posits a society in which 20 years of drought have resulted in such stringent water restrictions that the citizenry is forced to share public bathroom facilities operated for profit by a malevolent and ruthless company – until one brave man and his bladder rise up in rebellion.

“Urinetown” aims its satirical stream at a wide variety of targets, up to and including musical theater itself.
