•  Adrian Goodwin of Chapel Hill, graduated from the University of Rochester on May 20 with a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering. He is the son of Rosalind and Frank Goodwin, and a graduate of East Chapel Hill High School.

•  Triangle Community Foundation announced the addition of four new members to its board of directors:

- Dianne Birch, a community volunteer who has served on the United Way of Chatham County board and with other agencies;

- Easter Maynard, the executive director of ChildTrust Foundation of Golden Corral Inc. since 2005;

- Michael J. Schoenfeld, vice president of public affairs and government relations at Duke University; and

- James H. Speed Jr., president and chief executive officer of N.C. Mutual Life Insurance Co. since 2004.
