CHAPEL HILL - Weather permitting, the N.C. Department of Transportation will close a section of Weaver Dairy Road in Chapel Hill this weekend to install a storm drain pipe.
Weaver Dairy Road will be closed between Timberlyne Road and Weatherstone Drive beginning at 8 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 17 through 6 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 20.
Motorists should use the following signed detour routes and are encouraged to allow an additional 10 minutes for travel to their destination:
• Motorists traveling on Weaver Dairy Road from Erwin Road should turn right on Sunrise Lane, left on Whitfield Road, left on N.C. 86 and back to Weaver Dairy Road.
• Motorists traveling on N.C. 86 who wish to access eastbound Weaver Dairy Road will continue on N.C. 86 and turn on Whitfield Road, then take a right on Sunrise Lane and travel back to Weaver Dairy Road.
NCDOT reminds motorists to watch signs for construction information, stay alert and obey the posted speed limit.
