•  The second annual “Healin’ With a Feelin’ – A Night of Burnin’ Love” fundraising concert will be held Saturday, Aug. 18, at the Cat’s Cradle, 300 E. Main St., Carrboro.

Proceeds go to the North Carolina Jaycee Burn Center.

A silent auction will begin at 7 p.m., and live music by The BilliTones, Rebecca & the Hi-Tones, South Wing and the Willie Painter Band will begin at 8 p.m.

•  The Piedmont Farm Animal Refuge, a farm animal welfare startup based in Chatham County, will hold a Garage and Bake sale from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, at 301-B Westview Dr., Carrboro.

• The Racial Reconciliation Ministry of Baptist and Barbee’s Chapel Harvest Word Ministries will host its biannual giant yard sale on Saturday, Aug. 18, at Binkley Baptist Church, 1712 Willow Dr.

The theme is “Creating Home,” and net proceeds will provide housing for children and adults in the local community and throughout the state by supporting the Inter-Faith Council for Social Service and the Central Children’s Home. A portion will also go to the PTA Thrift Shop.

Paws4Ever will hold a launch party for the Waggin’ Wagon, a food truck ofering treats for dogs and cats, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. today, Aug. 15, at Diamond View Park on the American Tobacco Campus, next to the Durham Performing Arts Center, Durham.

The truck will offer gourmet dog treats from Gourmutt’s Bakery in Raleigh.

All proceeds will go to Paws4Ever’s efforts to find permanent home for dogs and cats in the Triangle.
