CHAPEL HILL - The Chapel Hill Police Department has lodged additional charges against four men accused in a Mt. Bolus break-in last month.

Police charged each of the following menThursday with one count of conspiracy to commit a felony.

• Desmun Lamon Sutton, 21, of Avon Lake Drive, Durham, was previously charged with one count of felony breaking and entering, one count of felony possession of stolen property and one count of felony larceny.

• Demetrius Darnell Sutton, 19, of Avon Lake Drive, Durham, was previously charged with one count of felony breaking and entering, one count of felony possession of stolen property and one count of felony larceny

• Joshua Rayshawn Melvin, 19, of East Main Street, Durham, was previously charged with one count of felony breaking and entering, one count of felony possession of stolen property and one count of felony larceny.

Moses Whitfield, 17, of Avon Lake Drive, Durham, has been charged with four additional counts of felony breaking and entering, four counts of felony larceny, and four counts of injury to real property, for his involvement in four residential break-ins as follows:

• July 16 – Huntington Drive

• July 16 – Sourwood Circle

• July 30 – Granville Road

• Aug. 14 – Mt. Bolus Road

Whitfield previously was charged with the same counts as the other men, plus one count of resist delay and obstruct after fleeing a traffic stop on the vehicle the four men were traveling in, police said.

All four were taken to the Orange County Jail under a $5,000 secured bail.
