William T. Mann passed away Aug. 23, 2012, at 85. A World War II Marine Corps veteran who served overseas, and a longtime resident of Chatham County after his retirement from the Federal Reserve. He was the devoted husband of Czeslava Mann and the loving father to Anthony and Robert Mann of Chicago. He was the son of John and Marie Mann and brother to James and Richard. An inveterate letter writer, a bon vivant and raconteur, he loved fine dining and the seafaring novels of Patrick O'Brian, and he took a kind and lively interest in the doings of his small community, as well of his family, both actual and adoptive. Bill, we will miss you very much.
