Concert to benefit Rails-Trails

•  Chapel Hill High School students, parents and teachers will present the inaugural Tiger Chill Festival from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 15 (rain date 2-6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 16) in the school parking lot near the football stadium.

The event will feature games, activities, live music, food vendors, arts and crafts, and more.

Proceeds will support Chapel Hill High’s school clubs, teams, bands and organizations. Tickets will be available at the door.

•  The fourth annual BBQ for Babies presented by the Duke Intensive Care Nursery Family Advisory Board will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, at Teer Farm, 7729 Kepley Road, Chapel Hill. The event will include dinner and dessert, music, raffle, activities and more. Tickets are $10 per person. See dukechildrens.org

North Carolina Rails-Trails will hold “Full Steam Ahead,” a benefit concert featuring Mary Johnson Rockers and the Spark Saturday, Sept. 8, at The ArtsCenter, 300-G E. Main St., Carrboro.

The event will include a silent auction and performances by Elon University students Matt D’Amico and Julie Crothers and Elon alumnus Karena Thacker.

One hundred percent of ticket sales will benefit North Carolina Rails-Trails, a nonprofit land trust that preserves abandoned rail corridors for use as public trails and greenways. Doors open at 7 p.m. Tickets are $15 for admission and one drink ticket; $20 for admission and two drink tickets.
