•  The Great Shoot Out to benefit the Kidzu Children’s Museum, offering a chance to get a portrait done by a professional photographer, will be held at the North Carolina Botanical Garden, 100 Old Mason Farm Road, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 30.

Each 15-30 minute session can feature up to seven people.

All proceeds benefit programming at Kidzu.

•  Chapel Hill-Carrboro Meals on Wheels will host a Food Truck Rodeo from 4:30 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5, at the Carrboro Farmers Market.

Food Trucks including Chick’n’que, Glutey Tooty, Old North State BBQ , Only Burger, Parlez-vous Crepes, Pie Pushers and Sympathy for the Deli will donate 10 percent of their sales to Meals on Wheels.

Also on tap are a raffle and silent auction, games for kids, and live music by the Bolin Creek String Band.

The 4th annual BBQ for Babies presented by the Duke Intensive Care Nursery Family Advisory Board will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, at Teer Farm, 7729 Kepley Road, Chapel Hill.

The event will include dinner and dessert, music, raffle, activities and more.

Tickets are $10 per person.
