Fundraiser Event

Eyes Ears Nose and Paws will hold its third annual fundraiser, Fun at Hogan Farm from 2 to 5 p.m. at Hogan’s Magnolia View Farm, 9118 Old N.C. Highway 86. There will be live music, food and activities for children. Admission is $20 for adults; $15 in advance and $5 for children ages four to 12. Hispanic Tennis Carnival

The town of Carrboro, the Durham Orange Community Tennis Association and N.C. Tennis will hold a Hispanic Tennis Carnival from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Wilson Park Tennis Courts in Carrboro. There will be tennis games and prizes. townofcarrboro.org.

Senior Auditions

The Seymour Center Prime Time Players will hold auditions for its upcoming production, “A Musical Review: Starring Richard Rodgers and Hart and Hammerstein” from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Robert and Pearl Seymour Center, 2551 Homestead Road. Volunteers are also needed to work behind the scenes. The musical will be held on Dec. 6 and Dec. 8. 919-968-2070.

Meet the Author Tea

The Friends of the Chapel Hill Public Library will hold a Meet the Author Tea at 4 p.m. at the Deep Dish Theater in University Mall. Refreshments will be served at 3:30 p.m. Christopher Teuton will discuss his book, “Cherokee Stories of the Turtle Island Liars Club.”

Lecture Event

Matthew Winkler, editor-in-chief for Bloomberg News, will discuss the role of the economy in the 2012 presidential election during his lecture titled, “2012: The Economy Election” at 5:30 p.m. in the George Watts Alumni Center at UNC-Chapel Hill.

Wednesday

Town Treasures Reception

The fifth group of Town Treasures will be revealed at a reception from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Robert and Pearl Seymour Center, 2551 Homestead Road. Town Treasures are older adults who have guided, ministered to, taught and documented Chapel Hill-Carrboro history.

Library Community Feedback Forum

The Orange County Public Library will hold a library community feedback forum from 10 a.m. to noon at the Century Center, 100 N. Greensboro St., Carrboro. Community forums are open to all ages and everyone is encouraged to share their thoughts and visions for libraries in Orange County. orangecountync.gov/library.

Peace Vigil

West End Poetry Fest

Fresh Roots Festival

The Downtown Merchants of Historic Hillsborough will hold the Fresh Roots Festival in downtown Hillsborough. There will be live music and a variety of activities, including the Handmade Parade and Fresh Roots Feast on Sunday, Oct. 21. FreshRootsFestival.org.

Singles Event

Singles Mingle in Chapel Hill will be held beginning at 7 p.m. in the Roberts Lounge at the Franklin Hotel, 311 W. Franklin St. The event is geared toward singles ages 35-70 and up, but adults of all ages are welcome. smich44@gmail.com
